S2, Ep. 13: Our Ever-Present Help in Trouble

Have a comment? Text us!

Sometimes we go through stressful and difficult times that we find ourselves trapped in a whirlwind with no idea how everything will turn out. It is hard to see God’s helping hand because everything is out of control, crumbling around us.

How can we be sure that God will always come through and help us when hardship overwhelms us?

This episode opens up with an assurance that God, our Father, gave us:

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

This is a powerful and refreshing promise. God wants you to see Him as your refuge, your strength, and your ever-present help.

In this episode, our host Todd shares a story of a time when he and his family were going through a very chaotic time. It was one of those moments in life when suddenly everything started crumbling and going downhill so fast. He needed help badly. So he held on to that promise in Psalm 46, and…

Listen to the episode to see how God was Todd’s refuge, his strength, and his ever-present help amid chaos and lies of hopelessness. Be encouraged to hear the different ways God shows that He is present, how He moves, and how he helps us when we feel surrounded by troubles and at the end of our resources.

Coffee With Jesus Goes Live!

Coffee With Jesus Goes Live!

Coffee With Jesus Ministries grew out of a desire to bring hope and comfort to those in need.

It started with a devotional book, then a Facebook page. Initially, the page was created to help promote and sell the devotional book. However, when 2020 rolled around, everything changed. People were struggling, filled with anxiety, wondering if the end would ever be in sight.

It was thought we could use the page to help encourage and uplift our brothers and sisters in Christ. It started by sharing encouraging devotions, scriptures and memes, but it eventually turned into a podcast.

Then, in 2021, it was decided to form a ministry around the devotions, social media and the podcast. The entire purpose of the podcast and the ministry it to encourage and uplift others.

S2, Ep. 12: The Ministry of Presence – The Call of Chaplains

It’s been almost three hours, and a murder victim still lays on the street in Kansas City. Two investigators are taking pictures from every angle. A crew is mounting laser scanners in tripods to record images to build a 3D photographic model of the scene.

In a corner, there’s a grieving family in shock and despair. Why does their loved one still lay there? What’s going on?

Then someone approaches the family and carefully explains every intricate proceeding of what’s happening—bringing them a bit of clarity into the chaos they are already experiencing. That mysterious person listens attentively to them and answers some of their questions. Someone is present… just for them. And that presence brings a little breath of comfort amid chaos.

That mysterious person is a chaplain—someone providing emotional support or spiritual care in whatever context you can think of.

In this episode, our guest speaker, Jared Altic, is a full-time pastor of a church in Kansas City. He volunteers as a chaplain with the local Police Department. As a chaplain, he provides short-term services for people in crisis (in any scene involving homicide, suicide, or unattended death). He also offers long-term support and spiritual care to police officers and other first responders coping with the toll of the job or other personal matters.

Listen to this revealing episode to immerse yourself in the call of chaplains. Discover how the ministry of presence looks like and how impactful it is.

S2, Ep. 11: Do Christians REALLY Need to Go to Church?

Do Christians need to go to church?

Our host will address a burning issue in the 21st century: Do Christians REALLY need to go to Church? We could share many opinions about this matter. But, does the Bible say anything about it?

“Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” — Hebrews 10:25

What does “meeting together” mean?

Todd examines the text in the light of the early Christian culture and compares this “gathering” concept to what the church does nowadays. He also talks about the “why” behind gathering and its impact on the Christian life. During this episode, Todd also shares a few of his own experiences.

Listen to this episode to see a biblical perspective on this topic and discover why the place of meeting is not as important as it is meeting together.

S2, Ep. 10: The Gift of Christmas

What does Christmas mean to you?

Countless movies have explored this question. Countless sermons have been preached on this question. Countless Bible Studies have been conducted on this question, but what does Christmas mean to YOU?

In The Gift of Christmas, our Host, Ms. Yilda Rivera and her Co-Host, Todd Uebele, discuss what Christmas means to them. They also talk about the greatest gift of all, God’s gift to all mankind.

“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

One way to see this verse is as a definition of the gospel. It starts with God’s motivation and continues with God giving us a gift.

This verse is an illustration of how much God loves us. He gave us a gift…His one and only Son…Jesus.

Join us as we talk about God’s Gift, and take heart about the intensity of God’s love, His gift, and the extent of Jesus’ mission.

S2, Ep. 9: Why Does God Allow Bad Things to Happen?

If God is an all-powerful God…

Why does God allow bad things to happen?

Yes. Our God is powerful, omniscient, and omnipresent. He can stop the rain. However, sometimes God allows the rain to continue.

But why?

Why would God allow his people to go through storms?

Listen to this episode to find out why God would allow his children to go through difficult times.

Our host, Todd, will share with us three different reasons and discuss each one of them in the light of the Scriptures.

Join Todd in this conversation and take heart… God is right there in the storm with you; He is your constant companion.

S2, Ep. 8: God Meets You Where You Are, Part 2

Have a comment? Text us!

“You never know Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have,”—Special Guest, Michele Dalton.

Many see resilience as power from within. But after two major accidents that threatened her life, our guest, Michele Dalton, will show you how resilience is power from above when God meets you where you are.

It was 1990, the night after Thanksgiving when a 1974 Ford Bronco hit Michelle’s car head-on while she was at a stop sign. The fallout over the next year was extraordinary.  After six months in a wheelchair, Michelle couldn’t find a job; she had no money; she couldn’t afford to go back to college, and debt engulfed her.

Her faith in God and the power of worship comforted her and carried her through that season. With time and through God’s fingerprints—she will tell you what this means—she found an agency that saw great talent in her and trained her as a graphic designer. This opportunity opened a new career for her.

Then in 2016, another car accident had her pinned to the passenger seat with a 2,500-pounds black Jeep Cherokee on her lap. In this accident, she never blacked out. Thus, the memory of it all made the experience more traumatic.

She found herself again in pain and with doctors telling her that she was never going to walk. But once again, God came alongside her to face that struggle and turn hopelessness into strength, purpose, and direction.

Michelle shares with us the short prayer she muttered during that second accident while waiting to be rescued: “Jesus, save us.” And He did.

God met her where she was and restored her.

Listen to this episode and let Michele tell you how God stuck around her side and saw her through. Discover how God made beauty from the ashes. From the struggle, a new passion ignited in Michelle—writing. She’s now sowing hope and helping those who are dealing with isolation, disappointment, and depression to find the joy of the Lord.
