S4, Ep. 2: Why Was Elijah Depressed?

In life, we face storms; we may face depression. But take heart; God is your ever-present help in times of trouble. He will be your strength. In this episode of Coffee With Jesus, we talk about how God intervenes when we are facing depression.

Our host clarifies that just because someone is seeking help through a healthcare professional or taking medication to fight depression doesn’t mean God is not involved. Then, our host takes us to 1 Kings 19—a blunt account of the prophet Elijah overwhelmed by a deep depression.

What happens in that chapter is a clear example of how God helps us when facing depression. God didn’t rebuke Elijah. God listened to him, provided him comfort, sustenance, and rest, and then gave him a job. Listen to this episode to hear our host sharing how God helped him in a similar way.

Our host also shares an impactful testimony from a couple who went through a dire situation, one of them spending 42 days in the hospital (in and out of comas), and how they both experienced miraculous strength, healing, and the lifting power of God through the ordeal. S4, Ep. 1: How to Recover From Rock Bottom, Part 3

Do you ever feel like God isn’t with you? Sometimes, when going through life’s storms, it can be hard to feel God’s presence. However, He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. When you have hit Rock Bottom, it can seem like God has left you, but our Lord will NEVER abandon you.

Join us for the inaugural episode of our fourth season and listen as our host shares with you real, practical steps that you can take to turn over your fear, your anxiety, your downcastness, to God. Todd shares how God helped him recover from rock bottom when he was recently overwhelmed by life events.

Those events, threatened to cause a downward spiral in his emotional well-being. However, by trusting in God, he was not only able to overcome the negative emotions that had threated to overwhelm him, but he was also able to help others as well. Our host not only shares his struggles, but shares how we can use our struggles to help others.

His testimony will show you how God can help YOU recover from rock bottom as well.

Bonus Episode Season 4

Special: Be Prepared!

The motto of the Boy Scouts of America is, “Be Prepared!”

This motto can apply to every day life in both a terrestrial and spiritual sense. As Christians we should be prepared for what we will be facing in the world.

This episode will not be your typical episode of Coffee With Jesus. Drawing inspiration from the prophet Habakkuk, our host will share how it is important to prepare for what may be coming, as well as how important it is to hold on to God’s promise to always be with us.

Listen to this episode and know that when calamity strikes, whether on a national/global level or on a more personal level, God will take care of you. God will be with you, provide for you and help you through the storm.
